As part of the Board, Devon Link Up supports the role of the Partnership Board Ambassadors. There are 7 Ambassadors and they meet twice a week to work on the activities of the Partnership Board as well as the things they are interested in.The Ambassadors are proud to be part of The Big Plan for Torbay, helping to shape a future where services work better for people with learning disabilities and their families. As part of this important work, we are involved in discussions about what is working well across the Bay and where improvements can be made to ensure people have a stronger voice and better opportunities.
We work closely with Torbay Council and a range of local organisations and services, sharing experiences, gathering feedback and helping to influence positive change. By listening to people and speaking up about the issues that matter, we help make sure that services are more accessible, inclusive and responsive to people’s needs.
Our office is based at Hollacombe and we always welcome visitors who would like to meet with us, share their ideas, raise concerns or find out more about our work.
The Ambassadors also deliver training on Easy Read information and Reasonable Adjustments, helping organisations better understand how to communicate and support people effectively. The feedback we receive is consistently excellent and shows the positive difference this training can make.
If you would like to find out more about the Ambassadors or the Torbay Learning Disability Partnership Board, please get in touch. We would love to hear from you.
